Self Study Writing Style Guide
Accreditation 101 - Insight into your self-study process.
August 21, 2009
Presented by Joan Stirling & Jeremy Nicholson ![]()
As Fall gets underway, so does the self study steering committee.
Ozarka's new president, Dr. Richard Dawe, attended his first Steering Committee meeting at Ozarka College and was complimentary to the committee for their steadfast efforts thus far, and encouraging for the upcoming timeline of self-study events.
Jeremy Nicholson, co-chair of the Editing/Publishing Committee has developed a template for the self study document along with style guidelines.
The template uses Ozarka College's color of maroon as a accent along with the Ozarka seal and a modern and clean font: Calibri.
Several guidelines were presented in order to keep the self-study document consistent.
Examples of the guidelines presented include:
- Use Microsoft Word 2007 to type the document.
- Do not use periods in an acronym. Example: GED, not G.E.D.
- Use an objective voice, and avoid pronouns such as "we, I, me" or "you".
- Refer to Ash Flat and Mountain View as "sites" not "campuses".
A full style guide is available and will be edited as needed.
