The Ozarka College Bookstore on the Melbourne campus will be open Saturday, Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. in order to allow students to take advantage of the Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday. 

The holiday, sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, allows shoppers an opportunity to purchase school supplies for one day without having to pay local or state sales tax. 

Items available in the Bookstore on Aug. 4 include textbooks, school supplies, study guides, art supplies, and all educational materials. Apparel and book bags are not eligible for the tax break.

Any Ozarka College student who has been awarded financial assistance will be able to charge books to their student account. Students are advised to check their accounts on myOzarka or with the Financial Aid Department to ensure eligibility before the event.
