Holzhauer Appointed to Ozarka College Board of Trustees

Governor Asa Hutchinson recently announced the appointment of Fred Holzhauer, resident of Ash Flat, Arkansas, to the Ozarka College Board of Trustees. His seven-year term will expire in 2023.

Trustee Holzhauer, born and raised in Gillett, Arkansas, has been a resident of Sharp County for the past 17 years. He graduated from Gillett High School in 1981 and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1985. There he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business before attending Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has completed numerous banking schools and seminars, as well as graduated from Arkansas Bankers Association Commercial Lending School (2003), Barret School of Commercial Lending (2009), and Barret School of Banking (2010). In 2007, Holzhauer became First Community Bank's vice president of commercial lending at the Cherokee Village/Highland branch.

"I am very honored and humbled to be appointed to the Ozarka College Board of Trustees, " said Fred Holzhauer. "Ozarka College is the greatest asset we have in the communities and surrounding areas it serves. Ozarka College provides a quality education that is based on strong principles and standards to advance students educational goals."

In addition to serving on the Ozarka College Board of Trustees, Holzhauer is a member of First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village, Highland Rebels Booster Club, past president and past assistant governor in the Quad Cities Rotary Club, member of the Network of Community Options Board, Sharp County Airport Commission, and the Ozarka College Foundation Board.

"Fred is a wonderful additional to the College Board of Trustees, " commented Ozarka's president, Dr. Richard Dawe. "His commitment to Ozarka, as demonstrated by his strong support while on the Foundation Board, has prepared him well to serve in this important leadership role. "

Trustee Holzhauer is married to his wife, Melissa, and has two daughters; Chandler and Peyton.
