Ozarka College is currently accepting trainer cars in the Automotive Service Technology (AST) program, to enable students to gain hands-on experience. 2005 model or newer will provide students with the best experience and are preferred, but other donations will certainly be considered. Students will take apart, repair, and put back together the trainer cars multiple times throughout their education.

Though the AST program currently provides students with vehicles to practice, newer year models are needed for updated training.   Ozarka College strives to prepare graduates of the AST program for highly successful careers, and the newer automobiles will strengthen students' skills.

"Last year, I learned that safety is most important," said Floyd Hoke, a second year student in the AST program at Ozarka College.   "I also learned about the fuel injection system and got to retime the ignition system in a late 80s model (truck) that we have in the shop. "

Hoke, a Brockwell native, is looking forward to learning how the engine works, in general, and how to diagnose electrical problems during this school year.   Upon completion of the program, he plans to apply for a technician position at area dealerships.
