Dr. T. Wayne Wilson Retired from Ozarka College

Published on July 19, 2017

Dr. T. Wayne Wilson, director of adult education, retired from Ozarka College after dedicating 50 years of service to education. On June 22, 2017, the College hosted a retirement celebration that was attended by family, friends, and colleagues (both past and present).

Dr. Wilson began his career at Oxford School in 1967 as a math teacher and the principal. Kendall Morrison, current employee in Ozarka's adult education department, shared an entertaining story about having Dr. Wilson as his elementary teacher and the thoughts he pondered when, years later, he learned that Dr. Wilson would be his boss. Similar memories were shared by other co-workers and it was eminently clear that everyone was fond of Dr. Wilson. He is well respected and will be missed by many.

Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka College president, presented Dr. Wilson with a plaque in honor of this great achievement. Dr. Wilson became employed at Ozarka Vocational Technical School in 1984 and has dedicated his working life to providing education opportunities for students throughout the north Arkansas region.

Suellen Davidson, Ozarka College director of advancement, announced that Dr. Wilson's family had made the first contribution towards raising funds for the Dr. Wayne Wilson Honorary Scholarship. He is leaving an amazing legacy and this is a wonderful way to honor his 50 years of service in education!
