The Ozarka College Foundation has announced twenty-six scholarship recipients for the upcoming academic year. Each student has been awarded $500 scholarships to be split between two semesters; $250 for fall 2014 and $250 for spring 2015 Ozarka College classes.

The Dan (Wally) Pittman scholarship has been awarded to two recipients, Susan Adkins and Madison Deloach.   Whittany Dockins has been awarded the Charles Cheatham Memorial scholarship.   Deloach and Dockins are both graduates of Calico Rock High School.

The Coy Ferguson Memorial scholarship has been awarded to Eli Blankenship and Makayla Gross has received the Granny Bea Crofford Memorial scholarship. Both are graduates from Izard County Consolidated (ICC).

Highland High School graduate, Amber Merriam, has received the Dietsche/Martin scholarship.   The Orvis and Lilbern Farris-Nix scholarship was also awarded to a graduate of Highland High School, Julie Steeves.   Ozarka Family awarded two scholarships, Kasey Hendrix and Nykki Via.   Hendrix graduated from ICC and Via graduated from Quitman High School.

Three residents of Cherokee Village have received $500 scholarships.   Arwen Sharak has been awarded the Harold Crawford Second Chance scholarship, Darla Spencer received the James Fenton Memorial scholarship, and Jessica Cubillas earned the Tri-County Hospice scholarship. Tri-County Hospice also awarded a scholarship to Jenerose Powell of Hardy.

Mountain View residents have clinched four scholarships: The Joe and Maxine Wyatt scholarship, Margaret Kemp Memorial scholarship, Netta Gilbert Memorial scholarship, and one of the Jean Jennings Memorial scholarships.   Respectively, recipients include Derek Broyles, Deborah Jordan, Bailey Miller, and Bailey Barnes.   Blonnie Brown, of Fifty Six, was also awarded a Jean Jennings Memorial scholarship.

The JoKay Smith Memorial and the Robert Kalischer Memorial scholarship each went to graduates of Mammoth Spring High School.   Congratulations to Brianne Reed and Hope McComas.   A second Robert Kalischer Memorial scholarship was awarded to Tim Davidson of Hardy.

The Lesa Bull Memorial also awarded two scholarships.   One went to Makollie Koelling of Salem and the other to Roberta Sutton of Thayer, Missouri.   Lindsey Wetzel, graduate of Melbourne High School, was awarded the Harry Powell and Velma Fudge Dixon Memorial scholarship.   Lindsey McHalffey of Violet Hill received the Paul and Treva Miller scholarship and James Tackett of Ash Flat was awarded the Sharp County Literacy/JaNoel Bess scholarship.  

In addition to the $500 scholarships, the Foundation is also happy to announce a $250 scholarship donated by Sales and Marketing Executives International.   Recipient for this scholarship is Michele Eaton.   Eaton is a Batesville resident who is majoring in Nursing.
