Dr. T. Wayne Wilson to Retire from Ozarka College

Dr. T. Wayne Wilson, director of adult education, has announced his plans to retire from Ozarka College after dedicating 50 years of service to education. The College invites colleagues, friends and family to attend a retirement celebration in the Ozarka College Student Services Center (Melbourne campus) on June 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with comments beginning at 11:30.

Dr. Wilson began his career at Oxford School in 1967 as math teacher and principal. Before coming to Ozarka Vocational Technical School in 1984, he also taught math for the Melbourne School District. He began his career with Ozarka as a math instructor, and then was appointed as Ozarka's first Adult Education Coordinator.

Ozarka College President, Dr. Richard Dawe commented, "Dr. Wilson has dedicated his working life to providing education opportunities for students throughout the north Arkansas region. He is an inspirational and compassionate leader who will be deeply missed, but he is leaving an amazing legacy and an exceptionally strong Adult education team to carry on this important work. "

Dr. Wilson is a graduate of Melbourne High School and holds a Bachelor's degree from Arkansas Polytechnical College in Russellville, a Master's degree in Secondary Education Administration from Arkansas State University (ASU), a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from ASU, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from ASU. He and his wife, Mavilene reside at Lacrosse. They have two grown children and five grandchildren.
