There has been much discussion at Ozarka College as to student perceptions concerning a difference in rigor for online coursework, student success in follow-on coursework, need for more on-the-ground classes as compared to distance classes, student preparedness to take online college coursework, determination of what is a viable mix of on-the-ground versus distance classes, determination concerning proper class size, and whether adequate instructor training and support has been and is provided.

To investigate the overall conduct of distance education provided by Ozarka College to determine whether adequate student learning is ensured and that college capital resources are utilized most efficiently to meet the College Mission, Vision, and Values by:

1.        Investigating whether Ozarka College is meeting student need in offering both the quantity and variety of distance education courses needed and desired.

2.        Investigating whether Ozarka College is meeting student need in offering both the quantity and variety of on-the-ground courses.

3.        Investigating whether Ozarka College courses offered via distance ensure necessary student learning for follow-on coursework or transfer.

4.        Investigating whether there is a need for minimum requirements (grade, GPA, placement score, or successful completion selected college courses) prior to students taking distance classes.

5.        Investigating adequacy of the mix of on-the-ground courses and distance classes in the same subject area.

6.        Investigating the adequacy of instructor preparation and limitations on class sizes in the distance format.
