Available Scholarships

Arkansas Future Grant (ArFuture)

Arkansas Future (ArFuture) is a grant that the State of Arkansas has designed with the purpose to increase the education and skills of Arkansas’s workforce in an affordable manner. The grant applies to students enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) or regional high demand areas of study. The grant will cover tuition and fees for qualifying certificate and Associate degree programs at Arkansas’ public institutions for eligible students. The grant is available on a first come, first serve basis. Scholarship Deadline to Apply: June 1 for the Fall semester and January for the Spring.

Gwenn Lea Memorial Aviation Scholarships

Gwenn Lea Memorial Aviation Scholarships are available for students entering either Aviation program at Ozarka College.

After receiving a $50,000 donation from the late Gwenn A. Lea, Ozarka College has designated a portion of this gift for scholarships that will benefit students in the new Aviation Program. Ozarka College will offer two scholarships, endowed at $20,000 each, for students who have declared their major as Professional Pilot - Aviation at Ozarka College, to use for lab (flight) fees. Each scholarship recipient will be awarded $500 per semester, beginning in the Spring semester of the 2016 academic school year. The scholarship will be awarded for up to a total of two semesters with the total award being $1000.

The deadline to apply for each of the Gwenn Lea Memorial Aviation Scholarships is October 1st of each year.

Ozark Aerosports

Co-owners of Ozark Aerosports, Dr. Richard Dawe and his wife, Chris, have partnered with Ozarka College to offer two $500 scholarships. The scholarships are to be awarded in the fall semester to one male and one female aviation student who are currently attending Ozarka College. "We are happy to provide support to students aspiring to a career in aviation, " said Chris Dawe. "There is unlimited opportunity and it's especially exciting to see young women pursuing careers as professional pilots. " The funds are to be allocated to flight fees for the students. Applications are available each fall and must be submitted by September 1st of each year.

AAOA Scholarship

AAOA was incorporated as an Arkansas Nonprofit Corporation in 1985 “to serve the interests of the owners and operators of all airports in the State of Arkansas.” Our purpose is to provide a network for the exchange of information and the transfer of experience gained among the members to help in the operation and management of airports. We promote the value of aviation and airports to the community, provide a unified voice in support of airports to the State Legislature and the Congress of the United States, promote aviation safety and provide scholarships for students pursuing a career in aviation. AAOA is a proactive organization that supports all Arkansas airports. Applications are available each fall and must be submitted by September 30th of each year. AAOA typically awards one $1000 scholarship annually. Learn more here

Arkansas Aviation Historical Society

The Arkansas Aviation Historical Society will provide annually renewable scholarships for education to qualified candidate(s) currently attending a Arkansas Part 141 School. The award will be known as the Arkansas Aviation Historical Society Educational Scholarship and will be administered by the Executive Committee of the Society. The scholarships will be based on the recommendations of the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee will consist of the Scholarship Chair and three members appointed by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will determine the amount and number of grants annually. Unused balances of this award must be returned by the school to Arkansas Aviation Historical Society. Funds will, under not circumstances, be issued directly to a student; funds will be issued to the institution for the student's use. Learn more here

Women in Aviation International

Women in Aviation International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. Our diverse membership includes astronauts, corporate pilots, maintenance technicians, air traffic controllers, business owners, educators, journalists, flight attendants, high school and university students, air show performers, airport managers and many others. WAI provides year-round resources to assist women in aviation and to encourage young women to consider aviation as a career. WAI also offers educational outreach programs to educators, aviation industry members and young people nationally and internationally. Learn more here
