Information Science Technology Program Coordinator/Faculty

Ozarka College in Melbourne, Arkansas seeks applications for a full-time Information Science Technology Program Coordinator/Faculty, currently housed at the Ozarka College Ash Flat campus.  The position is a 9-month to 12-month full-time faculty position requiring a minimum 15 credit hours of instruction per semester. This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of students in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills.  The successful candidate will prepare and equip the students for profitable careers in the Information Science Technology industry, supervise and ensure the proper teaching of hands-on skills, and provide the students with a combination of comprehensive theoretical knowledge and skills.  This position will ensure that information technology is taught in an environment that builds teamwork while gaining practical individualized experience. In addition, the faculty will participate in division activities, institutional committee assignments, and appropriate professional development activities relevant for the position, as well as course and program level assessment.  This individual will also be responsible for growing the program through curriculum development, building an active program advisory council, and recruiting students into the program, in addition to active academic counseling and guidance to students.  Curriculum taught will include, but not be limited to, networking, hardware installation and troubleshooting, internet technologies, operating systems, software development, systems analysis, web design, database, security, and virtualization.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Certifications in Information Technology areas such as: A+, Network+, Cisco-CCNA/CCNP, VMWare Certification, and Microsoft Certifications.
  • Knowledge of and work experience in Servers, Networking, Operating Systems, Virtualization, database management, webpage design.
  • One to two years’ experience in an IT related industry.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with college committees, campus organizations, and other educational institutions and to be involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
  • One to three years of college teaching experience preferred.
  • Three plus years’ experience in an IT related employment.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with education and experience.
