Culinary Arts/Hospitality Instructor

Ozarka College seeks a Culinary Arts/Hospitality Instructor to broaden the Culinary Arts program offerings. The position is a 9-month full-time faculty position requiring a minimum 15 credit hours of instruction per semester and begins in the fall semester of 2015. This position requires a passion for effective teaching and the advising of students as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate will prepare and equip the students for profitable and exciting careers in the hospitality and food service industries while providing a unique combination of comprehensive theoretical knowledge and skills. Some of the classes to be taught will include: Intro and Advanced Food Production and Baking, ServeSafe, Supervisory Management, Catering, Dining room management, as well as additional hospitality and culinary coursework based on industry need.  In addition, the instructor will participate in division activities, institutional committee assignments, and appropriate professional development activities relevant for the position as well as provide academic counseling and guidance to students.


Minimum qualifications for the position: 


  • AAS degree from an accredited culinary arts or hospitality program
  • Three years of experience in the hospitality field
  • ServeSafe Certified 
  • ServeSafe certified instructor and proctor or ability to obtain within four months of employment
  • Computer Literacy

Preferred qualifications for the position: 


  • An earned Bachelor’s degree or higher academic credential in  culinary arts, hospitality or related field
  • Five years of managerial experience in the Culinary Arts/hospitality field.
  • Experience teaching post-secondary hospitality or Culinary Arts coursework or providing corporate hospitality training experience
  • CHE – Certified Hospitality Educator Designation from the American Hotel and Lodging Association
  • Chef Certification

Salary Range: commensurate with education and experience.
