Culinary Program Director/ Lead Culinary Faculty

Ozarka College seeks a Culinary Program Director/ Lead Culinary Faculty with a passion for effective teaching and the advising of students to broaden the Culinary Arts program. The position is a 9-month to 11-month full-time faculty position. As the Culinary Program Director, this person is responsible for the overall conduct of the Culinary program to include teaching assignments, program content, program assessment, assessment of student learning and program accreditation data collection, accreditation reporting, and program budgeting. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills.


The successful candidate will prepare and equip culinary students for profitable and exciting careers in the hospitality and food service industries while providing a unique combination of comprehensive theoretical knowledge and skills. Some of the classes to be taught will include: Intro and Advanced Food Production and Baking, ServeSafe, Supervisory Management, Catering, Dining Room Management, as well as additional hospitality and culinary coursework based on industry need.  In addition, the faculty member will participate in division activities, institutional committee assignments, and appropriate professional development activities relevant for the position as well as provide academic counseling and guidance to students.


Minimum qualifications for the position:  


  • AAS degree from an accredited culinary arts or hospitality program
  • Three years of experience in the hospitality field
  • ServeSafe Certified
  • ServeSafe certified instructor and proctor or ability to obtain within four months of employment
  • Computer Literacy  

Preferred qualifications for the position:


  • An earned Bachelor’s degree or higher academic credential in  culinary arts, hospitality or related field
  • Five years of managerial experience in the Culinary Arts/hospitality field.
  • Experience teaching post-secondary hospitality or Culinary Arts coursework or providing corporate hospitality training experience
  • CHE – Certified Hospitality Educator Designation from the American Hotel and Lodging Association Chef Certification

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000, commensurate with education and experience


Fringe Benefits: The value of the benefits package provided by the college is nearly 34 percent of the base salary and includes major medical insurance and retirement contributions. Supplemental life, dental, vision, and disability insurance are available at group rates. Other benefits offered include participation in the wellness program, tuition waivers, educational opportunities, and paid sick leave.
