Information Science Technology Instructor

Ozarka College in Melbourne, Arkansas seeks applications for a full-time Information Science Technology Instructor.  The position is a 9-month full-time faculty position requiring a minimum 15 credit hours of instruction per semester. This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of students plus excellent oral and written communication skills.  The successful candidate will prepare and equip the students for profitable and exciting careers in the Information Science Technology industry, supervise and ensure the proper teaching of hands-on skills, and provide the students with a unique combination of comprehensive theoretical knowledge and skills.  This position will make certain that information technology is taught in an environment that builds teamwork while gaining practical individualized experience. In addition, the instructor will participate in division activities, institutional committee assignments, and appropriate professional development activities relevant for the position, and provide academic counseling and guidance to students.  Curriculum taught will include, but not be limited to, courses in networking, internet technologies, operating systems, computer programming, systems analysis, web design, database, security, and Microsoft Office software.


Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Certifications in Information Technology areas.
  • One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with college committees, campus organizations, and other educational institutions and to be involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience.


Fringe Benifits: The value of the benefits package provided by the college is nearly 34 percent of the base salary and includes major medical insurance and retirement contributions.
