Ozarka College to hold Flight Training at Sharp County Regional Airport and Mountain View Municipal Airport

Published on October 22, 2018

Ozarka College's Aviation Program will operate its flight training from alternate locations for the last two weeks of October into early November.   Due to a resurfacing project at the John E. Miller field, Melbourne Municipal Airport, Runway 03-21 will be closed for operations beginning on Tuesday, October 23nd, 2018.   The project's completion is anticipated on Friday, November 2nd, 2018.   During that time, Ozarka's flight training will take place out of Sharp County Regional Airport and Mountain View Municipal Airport.   Instructors will be working closely with Ozarka's campuses in Ash Flat and Mountain View, as they will be assigned to and available at both Sharp County and Mountain View airports on weekdays throughout this period.

Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka President, commented; "This is a good opportunity to train at regional satellite airports where we also have campuses. We appreciate the support of local authorities at both airports and will be purchasing fuel at both locations for our operations. " Flight training and ground school operations for Ozarka College's Aviation Program will resume at the Melbourne airport upon the completion of the Melbourne Municipal Airport resurfacing project.
