Melbourne and Ash Flat Beginning Yoga Classes

Published on January 12, 2018

Ozarka College will host a six-week series of Beginning Yoga through the continuing education program in Melbourne and Ash Flat. The Melbourne classes will meet on Mondays from January 22 through February 26 in the John E. Miller Education Complex, room C106. There will be two sessions available; Session A will begin at 4:15 p.m. and Session B will begin at 5:30 p.m.  The Ash Flat classes will meet on Thursdays from February 1 through March 8 in room AF109. For the Ash Flat location, Session A will begin at 4:30 p.m. and Session B will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The classes will be led by Dr. Deltha Sharp, who has been practicing yoga for over five years and recently completed a certified yoga teacher-training program. "The beginning yoga class will offer an opportunity for people of all ages and capabilities to improve their range of motion by focusing on movement, breath, and flexibility, " commented Sharp. "This practice is perfect for students who are new to yoga and want to learn the basics or for those who want to improve their personal practice. The class is structured in such a way that no yoga experience is necessary. "

The cost for either location is $45.00 for the six-week series and pre-registration is required.  Students ages 60 and over will receive a 20% discount when registering. Participants should bring their own yoga mat for this course. For more information or to register, please contact Fay Mitchell by calling 870.368.2005 or email: fay.mitchell@ozarka.edu.
