Military Appreciation Month

Published on May 9, 2018

Ozarka College, a Military Friendly and Military Spouse Friendly school, would like to salute those who are currently serving in the military as well as those who have served in the past. The College educates many Veterans and their families and has several employees who represent different branches of the Military.

In 1999, Congress designated May as National Military Appreciation Month to ensure the nation was given the chance to publicly show their appreciation for their troops. According to military.com, "Not only do we pause on  Memorial Day  to remember the sacrifice and service of those who gave all, but the month also holds several other military anniversaries and events, including  Military Spouse Appreciation Day  and  Armed Forces Day. "

Ozarka graduates who are a Veteran of the US Armed Forces will be recognized in the commencement program and they will be adorned with a special honor cord before graduating. Commencement will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. with Governor Asa Hutchinson as the guest speaker. For more information about Ozarka College, please visit the campus location nearest you in Melbourne, Ash Flat, Mammoth Spring or Mountain View or call 870-368-2024. Ozarka College accepts the GI Bill and has many other financial aid opportunities available.
