Chef Raymond Hired as Ozarka College Culinary Arts Director

Ozarka College has hired ACF Certified Executive Chef, Steven Raymond, to serve as the director of culinary arts/lead faculty. Chef Raymond has 10 years of experience in higher education; he previously worked as a program director and instructor at several community colleges and universities in Maryland.
"Chef Raymond comes to the College with exceptional certifications and experiences, " said Dr. Keith McClanahan, Ozarka College provost and executive vice president of learning. "We envision that the culinary program he provides will be more attuned to local tastes, but which will stretch our culinary experiences while maintaining the rigor and requirements for the very important ACF accreditation for the program. His graduates will be prepared to hit the ground running in any culinary environment and be productive for their employer. "
In 2017, Chef Raymond earned a Master of Business Administration in Hospitality from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He holds certifications as a CEC ® (Certified Executive Chef), CCE ® (Certified Culinary Educator), and an Approved Culinary Certification Evaluator with the American Culinary Federation (ACF ®). Additionally, Chef Raymond is a ServSafe ® Certified Food Service Manager, Certified ServSafe ® Instructor, and Registered ServSafe ® Examination Proctor with the National Restaurant Association (NRA ®).
Ozarka College is the only accredited ACF culinary program in North Central Arkansas, and just one of three ACF accredited culinary programs in the state of Arkansas.
