Herrington Family Donates $10,000 to the Ozarka College Capital Campaign

Published on June 18, 2015

The Mark Herrington family has committed $10,000 to the Ozarka College Student Services Center Capital Campaign. Their contribution will pay to furnish the student conference room, located in the new Student Services Center, on the Melbourne Campus.

Mark Herrington, pharmacist and owner of Mark's Pharmacy in Melbourne, has been an Izard county business owner since 1996. In 2011, he was selected to serve on the Ozarka College Foundation Board, where he presently serves as a board member.

Time spent with Jeannie Hudspeth and their blended family is of great importance to Mark. The whole family enjoys going to dirt track races and fishing on the beautiful White River. All together, Herrington and Hudspeth have six children including Austin (20), Lucian (18), Jackson (16), Rori Beth (12), Josey (12), and Zadey (10).

"I love my community and support anything I can do to help my community, " said Herrington. "My grandparents were loyal to their family and it is my hope that I can instill this value into my children. "

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the Student Services Center was held on January 29, 2015. The Student Services Center houses the Ozarka College student services, two community meeting rooms, a Caf`, computer lab, video teleconferencing center, and so much more. Many of these areas are available for public use, and business and industry partners are encouraged to utilize the state of the art technology and conference spaces.

"Mark and his family are committed to higher education and Ozarka College, " said Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka College President. "Their generosity and support sets a strong example for others to follow and is deeply appreciated by the Ozarka College community and our students! "

The "Students at the Center " capital campaign is a bold step to raise the quality of educational and student support services at Ozarka College to new heights. The campaign will help ensure student success and will enhance the campus to create a more community-centered learning environment.
