Aviation-Commercial Pilot

The Aviation – Commercial Pilot program prepares students for a career as a professional pilot. Along with completing general education courses, students gain the knowledge, skills, and flight experience needed to earn Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Multi-Engine Airplane certifications through the College's FAA-approved Part 141 program (Air Agency Certificate 80ZS312L). Graduates are eligible to take FAA knowledge and practical exams for all covered ratings and may qualify for a Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) certificate at 1,250 hours.

  • Earn Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Multi-Engine Airplane certifications.
  • Read and interpret aeronautical charts, weather information, and FAA regulations.
  • Apply aviation knowledge to real-world flight operations.

Program Outcomes
Upon completing the program, graduates will be able to:

  • Successfully pass FAA knowledge and practical exams for:
    • Private Pilot – Airplane (PAR)
    • Private Pilot – Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL)
    • Instrument Rating – Airplane (IRA)
    • Commercial Pilot – Airplane (CAX)
    • Commercial Pilot – Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL)
    • Commercial Pilot – Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL)
  • Earn a Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument Rating for Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL) and Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL).
  • Build a foundation for advanced flight opportunities, including eligibility for Restricted ATP certification at 1,250 hours.
Career Pathways
Graduates are prepared for entry-level commercial pilot positions and a pathway toward further advancement in the aviation industry.
