Director of Career Pathways

Ozarka College in Melbourne is seeking qualified applicants for a Director for the Career Pathways Initiative (CPI).  The CPI Director is a full time, 12-month, grant-funded position. The Director, acting under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Student Services, will provide support to all areas in regard to Career Pathways and supervise two staff members.  The Director of Career Pathways is responsible for overall management of the grant initiative including fiscal and day-to-day activities necessary for administration of the Career Pathways Initiative (CPI).


The successful candidate should be focused on student success, able to develop trust with students, understand barriers which affect college student success, able to work with others in a team setting as well as independently, and have a strong work ethic.


POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES


  • Executes duties as the College Administrator of the outlined Arkansas Department of Higher Education/Department of Workforce Services Memorandum of Agreement (ADHE/DWS MOA) and CPI Grant Award within pre-determined budget guidelines and objectives.
  • Ensures initiative operations within guidelines by adhering to all policies and procedures of the ADHE/DWS Memorandum of Agreement and Career Pathways Annual Plan.
  • Develops and administers CPI grant budget including:
  • Development of annual campus budget proposal;
  • Submission of monthly requests for reimbursement;
  • Efficient and appropriate budget execution per grant and College guidelines.
  • Responsible for all grant reporting requirements, all to be submitted timely according to program deadlines.
  • Serves as liaison with ADHE/CPI and communicates and disseminates all policies and procedures to campus staff and supervisors. Staffs, trains, monitors and motivates all campus CPI personnel. 
  • Performs as a team member with other campus departments and leads CPI staff in the spirit of teamwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Master's degree, with two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Campus/Agency experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to assisting students and faculty.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills.
