Surgical Technology Adjunct Faculty

Ozarka College seeks applicants for a Surgical Technology adjunct faculty member on the Mountain View campus. This is a part time position on an as needed basis. 

This adjunct faculty position, acting under the supervision of the Surgical Technology Program Director and Allied Health Division Chair, ensures excellence in teaching and learning by providing high quality, relevant, and valued instruction in their assigned field of study. 

Ozarka College is located in scenic Northcentral Arkansas and serves Izard, Stone, Sharp, and Fulton counties, where residents enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, as well as the benefits of the tranquility that the rural setting affords. Education at Ozarka is on the cutting edge, with traditional day and evening classes available at the main campus in Melbourne and locations in Ash Flat, Mammoth Spring and Mountain View. The College also offers a wide range of online classes that provides flexibility in scheduling for students with busy work and family schedules.

Position-Specific Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline.
• Coordinate, plan, review, and evaluate assigned classroom and clinical education including delivering curriculum to meet requirements of program accreditation.
• Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in the course in a timely manner.
• Enforce policies related to retention and progression of students.
• Maintain accurate documentation as required by program and clinical facilities and carry on related correspondence.
• Participate in annual program advisory committee meetings.
• Have computer and technological skills to teach and prepare lectures and clinical and laboratory assignments.
• Provide leadership, direction and oversight to all assigned course offerings within the surgical technology program.
• Work effectively with colleagues for continued growth and quality of curriculum and program.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities of an Ozarka College adjunct faculty member as outlined in a timely and effective manner.

Minimum Qualification:

• Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
• Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
