Transfer Specialist

Ozarka College invites applications for the position of Transfer Specialist. This is a 9.5-month, grant-funded position under the direction of the Director of TRIO Student Support Services. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026.

Position Summary

The Transfer Specialist provides comprehensive transfer and advising services to TRIO Student Support Services participants, supporting their successful transition to four-year institutions and career pathways.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide transfer advising, including academic planning, registration support, and guidance on financial aid and scholarships 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive transfer plan to support student progression to four-year institutions 
  • Organize and participate in transfer visits, college tours, and career-related events 
  • Monitor student transfer outcomes and gather feedback to improve services 
  • Provide up-to-date transfer, career, and employment information to students 
  • Assist in coordinating work-based learning, service-learning, and civic engagement opportunities 
  • Collaborate with TRIO staff to share transfer-related information and support student success 
  • Assist in developing program policies and procedures related to transfer services 
  • Serve on institutional committees and participate in professional development opportunities 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

College-Wide Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with college departments to support TRIO participants 
  • Serve on college committees as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, student personnel, or a related field 
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with economically or educationally disadvantaged students 
  • Experience in advising, teaching, or tutoring 
  • Knowledge of higher education systems and student support practices 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills 
  • Commitment to student success and the community college mission 
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development 
  • Preference may be given to candidates with a background similar to TRIO participants
