Published on September 1, 2017

The Ozarka College Foundation has selected three new members to serve as foundation board of directors. Daniel Busch of Salem, Andy Miller of Melbourne, and Kay Shipman of Mountain View will each serve a five-year term and work collectively to support the mission of Ozarka College to provide life-changing experiences through education. The Ozarka College Foundation Board encourages participation and volunteerism in a variety of ways, with a priority on fundraising for scholarships and other student and college needs. In addition, foundation members serve in a public relations capacity to represent the College in their individual communities.

Daniel Busch is employed by the Salem School District as a school resource officer, and he serves as the Mayor of Salem. He is a graduate of Mammoth Spring High School, Arkansas Fire Academy in Pocahontas, Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy, and the Arkansas State Police Training Academy. Busch is a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor in the state of Arkansas and he has completed numerous training hours obtained from the Criminal Justice Institute.

"Serving on the Foundation Board will provide me with a better insight of the Ozarka Mission, " said Busch. "With the new found resources and networks, I look forward to utilizing this knowledge to better serve the citizens in my area. " Busch is a member of the Salem Chamber of Commerce, the Fulton County Fair Association, and the Arkansas State Police Retiree's Association. Daniel and his wife, Heather, are the parents of Madison and Drake.

Andy Miller is employed by Miller's Inc./Hidden Creek Outdoors in Melbourne. "Growing up in Melbourne, I recognize the importance of Ozarka College in our area, " said Miller.  "The impact and opportunities it has made and is making on the people of our area is priceless.  Being selected to the foundation board is an honor and I am looking forward to helping not only Ozarka, but the people involved. "

Miller, whose special interests include hunting, outdoors, fitness, and athletics, earned a degree in Business Administration from Williams Baptist College. He and his wife, Ashley, are the parents of Ace and Adelee.

Kay Shipman is employed by the Mountain View School District and has worked in education for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor's degree from Arkansas Tech University and a Master's degree from Arkansas State University. Shipman is a member of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators and is a board member for the Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals.

"Serving on the Ozarka College Foundation Board gives me the opportunity to continue to serve our students as they move from public school to college, " said Shipman. "Ozarka College provides an opportunity for our students to continue their formal education in close proximity to home.  It is an honor to give back to the field of education which means so much to me. " Kay and her husband, Brad, are parents to Brady, Kaley and Kade.
