Beginning Hoop Dance offered at Ozarka College

Published on October 3, 2018

Ozarka College in Ash Flat, Arkansas will host a Beginning Hoop Dance through the continuing education program. The classes will meet for one hour on Mondays from October 15 through November 5 in the Lecture Hall, and if weather permits will be outside. Classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will focus on beginning and basic techniques and introduction to flow.

The classes will be led by Kelly Shell, who has been practicing for over four years.Beginning Hoop Dance provides an opportunity for people of all ages and capabilities to improve their range of motion by focusing on movement, breath, and flexibility. Much like dance, hooping increases coordination, grace in movement, core strength, tones the muscles, and improves cardiovascular fitness.    It keeps you engaged and is a refreshing change from your old exercise routine. It is the perfect activity to  explore many movements that will strengthen your body and relax your mind. Most importantly it's fun!  Leave feeling lighter, happier and healthier. This session is perfect for students who are new to hooping, or those who want to improve their hoop practice.

The cost is $60.00 ($48 for students ages 60 and up) and pre-registration is required. Hoops are included in the cost of the class, so participants need to be sure to pre-register. For more information or to register, please contact Fay Mitchell by calling 870.368.2005 or email:  fay.mitchell@ozarka.edu.
