Rosse Named Ozarka College Faculty of the Year

Published on August 2, 2017

Tena Rosse, English Instructor at Ozarka College, has been named 2017 Faculty of the Year. Rosse began teaching at Ozarka in 2015 and quickly made her mark. In addition to her regular classroom duties, Rosse worked with EF Tours to offer an educational trip to Costa Rica that took place in May of 2016. The following academic year, Rosse presented about this amazing cultural experience to attendees of the College's International Day events.

"Tena is one of those faculty members who goes above and beyond expectations in working with students to ensure learning and success in her courses, as well as with co-workers, " said Dr. Keith McClanahan, Ozarka College provost and executive vice president of learning. "She gives of her own free time to help provide cultural experiences to students and staff as demonstrated by her recent leadership in a group learning experience to Costa Rica. Tena also provides leadership to faculty through her work on the faculty council and serving as !Chair' of the council. "

Designation of an outstanding faculty member comes from students and peer faculty members. Each group votes to select the faculty member whose teaching and student interactions during the academic year clearly demonstrated their commitment to ensuring student success and effective learning at the College.  Rosse is truly deserving of this honor and will have the opportunity to attend the Arkansas Community Colleges reception honoring Faculty of the Year in Hot Springs, Arkansas in October.
