Brandy Gore, an English faculty member at Ozarka College, has been named 2019 Faculty of the Year. Gore began working for Ozarka in March 2011 as the Director of Admissions. She then transitioned into the role of Developmental Education instructor before assuming her current position as English instructor. Mrs. Gore has also served in various leadership positions in academics, including Faculty Council Chair, Director of First Year Experience, and English Department Assessment lead faculty. Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka president, added, "We are so very fortunate to have Brandy as a faculty member and colleague at Ozarka! Her passion for student learning and collegial work makes her a star among stars at our College. "
Designation of an outstanding faculty member comes from students, staff and peer faculty members. Each group votes to select the faculty member whose teaching and student interactions during the academic year clearly demonstrated their commitment to ensuring student success and effective learning at the College. Gore was recognized during Ozarka's commencement ceremony and will have an opportunity to attend the Arkansas Community Colleges reception honoring Faculty of the Year in Little Rock, Arkansas in October.
