Ozarka College Welcomes Kathy Thomas as Director of Nursing

Ozarka College is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Thomas, MSN, RN, as Director of Nursing.
A registered nurse for 37 years, Thomas brings extensive experience in nursing education, healthcare leadership, patient safety, and compliance. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Arkansas State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeast Missouri State University, and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of South Alabama.
Thomas began her career in medical-surgical nursing before transitioning into nursing education in 1994. Throughout her career, she has served as a nursing instructor, assistant professor, program director, hospital administrator, and healthcare executive. Most recently, she served as Chief Safety Officer for White River Health. Her previous leadership roles include Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Stone County Medical Center and Executive Director of Risk Management and Corporate Compliance Officer for White River Health. She also holds a national certification in healthcare risk management.
Thomas lives in Oxford, Arkansas, with her husband, David. Together they have six adult children and 17 grandchildren. She serves on the Oxford City Council, sits on the board of New Beginnings Pregnancy Help Center, and is an active member of Cherokee Village First Baptist Church.
