Ozarka College and Mountain View High School partnered this semester to provide a CNA program for area high school students in their junior or senior year at the Mountain View High School Career Center. Ozarka College adjunct instructor, Elizabeth Tankersley, RN and Partners for Care instructor, Tamra Bevill, RN, successfully obtained full program approval through the Office of Long Term Care for the program.
Tankersley expresses her impression of the students she has had this semester as exemplary. "I have been very impressed by these young men and women. I was a little apprehensive at first because of their young age, but they have proven themselves to be highly compassionate individuals and have the outstanding potential to go far in the medical field."
Outstanding students were selected for each semester and for the year. Kayla Crymes (sitting right) was selected student of the Fall 2008 semester, Carly Storey (standing left) was student of the Spring 2009 semester, and Lakyn Wrinkle (sitting left) was student of the year. The students who completed the course will now take their board certification exam in upcoming weeks. For further information on this or other health related programs at Ozarka, contact Admissions at 269-5600, or visit online at www.ozarka.edu.
