Precision Machining Students Complete Training

Published on August 10, 2021

Students from Emerson Electric Co. recently completed their educational training opportunity in Precision Machining Technology at the Ozarka College Carpenter Technical Center (CTC). Precision Machining is one of the many technical education offerings in high demand career fields at the technical training center.

"I am very excited to be a part of the new Precision Machining program here at Ozarka College, " said Todd Smith, Ozarka College Precision Machining Technology Faculty. "The need for this type of program in this area has grown in recent years with employers moving in and expanding operations and a shortage of a skilled workforce in the area. Our program will offer students the opportunity to build the skillset needed to gain a rewarding career with good pay. We offer a comprehensive program with brand new state-of-the-art equipment combined with my 35 plus years of experience for a well-rounded education in machining. Employers in the area will benefit with the addition of skilled workers. "

Ozarka College offers multiple high-demand training programs at the CTC, including automotive and diesel service, machining, and welding technology in partnership with Emerson and other area industries. The new CTC will serve as a regional hub for workforce training and development for Sharp County communities and beyond.
