Ozarka College hosted the Agriculture Faculty Tour Day held on June 15, 2021. The event took place at Ozarka College in Melbourne with agriculture faculty members from the area public schools in attendance for a special in-service. The morning session consisted of a seminar on Ozarka's technical program offerings, led by Ozarka's Carpenter Technical Center (CTC) director, Marcus Orf.
In the afternoon session Dr. Casey Orr, Agriculture program coordinator, joined Orf to help facilitate tours of local agriculture and industry operations and a walk-through of Ozarka's Melbourne technical education facilities. First, the Ozarka team led faculty on a tour of the Rocky Bayou Angus Ranch where students will receive hands-on instruction in the Fall. After the ranch tour, faculty returned to campus to discuss agriculture and technical program offerings in greater depth, including the College's newest offerings in diesel mechanics, precision machining, and welding technology at Ozarka's CTC in Ash Flat. Following the meeting, agri faculty experienced a showcase of Ozarka's state-of-the-art welding and automotive service labs in Melbourne. The group finished out the day with a tour at AirReady MRO Services located in Melbourne.
"The in-service was a great way to provide insight about the technical programs we offer at Ozarka as well as the great industry careers in our area. " said Marcus Orf, Carpenter Technical Center director. "We appreciate all the faculty in attendance and look forward to an exciting event next year! "
