On behalf of the Ozarka College Board of Trustees, Chair Fred Holzhauer has appointed a committee to conduct the formal search for the next President of Ozarka College.
Dr. Richard Dawe, who was named president on July 1, 2009, is retiring this December.
During his 15-year tenure, Dr. Dawe led the college through significant expansion and development. He oversaw the college's expansion into Fulton County and the construction of new buildings on both the Melbourne and Mountain View campuses. Dr. Dawe also spearheaded the opening of technical centers in Ash Flat and Mountain View and facilitated the acquisition of housing units for students. Under his leadership, several new academic programs were launched, including Agriculture, Diesel Service Technology, Information Systems Technology, Precision Machining, Skilled Trades, Surgical Technology, Welding, and Aviation-Commercial Pilot.
"On behalf of the entire board, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Dawe for his exemplary service and unwavering dedication to our college. His leadership and vision have profoundly impacted our institution, guiding us through years of growth and success. " Holzhauer said. "As Dr. Dawe embarks on his well-deserved retirement, we wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life. His legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come. "
Scott Pinkston, Vice-President and Chief Information Officer at Ozarka College will chair the search committee which also includes key members of the campus community and local leaders.
