Tamra Bevill, an Allied Health faculty member at Ozarka College, has been named 2020 Faculty of the Year. Bevill is the CNA program coordinator and teaches prerequisite courses foundational to Ozarka's LPN program.
Bevill began working for Ozarka in May 2007 as teacher for a grant called Partners for Care. This grant allowed Tamra to teach over 60 high school students CNA classes and medical terminology classes. She then transitioned into teaching CCNA and LPN prerequisites on the Melbourne and Mountain View campuses. Mrs. Bevill has also served on multiple committees over the years, including Faculty Counsel, Scholarship Committee, Instructional-Allied Health Division, and HLC Steering Committee.
"I'm so glad that Tamra is being publicly recognized for something students and faculty have known for quite some time, " added Dr. Chris Lorch, Vice President of Academics. "She is the model of a caring instructor who is fully committed to her students' success. Ozarka is fortunate to have her on the academic team. "
Designation of an outstanding faculty member comes from students, staff and peer faculty members. Each group votes to select the faculty member whose teaching and student interactions during the academic year clearly demonstrated their commitment to ensuring student success and effective learning at the College. Bevill will have the opportunity to attend the next annual Arkansas Community Colleges conference where she will be recognized during a reception honoring Faculty of the Year.
