Ozarka College's Candace Killian Earns Doctorate

Ozarka College's Director of Planning and Institutional Research, Candace Killian, has earned a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership from Arkansas State University (ASU) at Jonesboro. For her dissertation, she studied  Online Learning in Higher Education: Perceptions of Academic Administrators and Faculty Regarding Online Education in Community Colleges in Arkansas. Dr. Killian's degree was conferred at ASU Jonesboro on June 4, 2020.

Ozarka College President, Dr. Richard Dawe stated, "Dr. Killian has worked very hard to earn her prestigious credential and we are very proud of her accomplishment. She deserves much credit and I admire her for this life achievement!"

Dr. Killian, of Izard County, has been employed by Ozarka College since 2002. Prior to her current position as Director of Planning and Institutional Research, she served as Administrative Assistant for Title III, Accounting Technician, Academic Advisor in Student Success, Director of Distance Learning, Advising, Placement, Workforce and Continuing Education, Executive Assistant to the President. Killian also holds an associate of arts degree from Ozarka College, bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), Master's degree in History, and a Specialist degree in Community College Administration from ASU Jonesboro.
