Ozarka’s Summer Kids Cooking College Another Great Hit!
Published on June 8, 2026
The Ozarka College Culinary Department recently hosted its successful 2026 Kids Cooking College, welcoming students ages 7–18 for two weeks of hands-on culinary learning and fun.
During the first week, Kids Cooking College introduced students ages 7–12 to kitchen safety, basic cooking techniques, healthy meal preparation, and recipe creation. Participants enjoyed a fun and engaging environment that encouraged creativity and helped develop practical cooking skills.
"The Kids Cooking College is such a rewarding experience because it gives students the opportunity to learn valuable life skills while having fun and building confidence in the kitchen," said Brioney Edwards, Culinary Arts Lead Faculty at Ozarka College. "Watching their excitement grow throughout the week and seeing them take pride in what they create is incredibly rewarding."
The second week featured Teen Cooking College for students ages 13–18, focusing on advanced culinary techniques and career exploration. Participants gained experience in food preparation, knife skills, plating, baking, and other professional kitchen practices while learning about the discipline and creativity involved in the culinary arts.
Both programs provided students with valuable hands-on experience and an opportunity to explore cooking in a positive and supportive setting.
Ozarka College would like to thank the students, families, instructors, volunteers, and community supporters who helped make this year's Kids Cooking College a success.
