Foundation Hosts First Industrial Signing Day

Published on May 14, 2025

Ozarka College recently hosted its first Industrial Signing Day, a milestone event celebrating student achievement and career readiness. Held at the John E. Miller Education Complex, the ceremony honored several students from Ozarka's Welding Technology program as they officially signed with Bad Boy Mowers to begin their careers.

"Ozarka is proud to celebrate the hard work and dedication of these students as they take the next step into the workforce, " said Dr. Josh Wilson, Ozarka College President. "Events like this are more than just ceremonies-they symbolize a partnership between education and industry that creates opportunities and fuels regional growth. "

The event brought together college faculty, administrators, family members, and industry partners to recognize the students' commitment and achievements. Attendees heard remarks from Dr. Wilson, along with Ozarka Welding Faculty and representatives from Bad Boy Mowers, who commended the students for their discipline, technical skill, and work ethic. After the signing, students were recognized individually as they committed to begin their careers with Bad Boy Mowers, one of the region's leading employers in manufacturing and equipment production.

"This day represents the culmination of classroom instruction, hands-on experience, and real-world readiness, " said Marcus Orf, Ozarka College vice president of advancement and workforce development. "We're incredibly proud of these students and look forward to seeing the impact they'll make in the industry. "

Ozarka's Industrial Signing Day reinforces the College's commitment to workforce education and strong local partnerships. Plans are already in motion to expand the event in future years to include students from additional technical programs and employers.
