Trish Miller is a familiar face around Ozarka College and the community of Melbourne.
Trish Miller has been with Ozarka College for 13 years, like fellow "spotlighter" this week, Phil Gillihan. Miller manages the Learning Lab, which is located in the John E. Miller Building and is a very important facility to many of Ozarka's students. Along with the Learning Lab, Miller also takes on the role of a GED Instructor at the college. Receiving her Business Education degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Trish went on to receive her Master's in the same field from ASU in Jonesboro, as well as becoming certified in Adult Education.
Having been raised in Izard County, Miller recognized the need for Ozarka in the community; "I am so thankful that Melbourne was chosen as a site for a vo-tech school some time ago. I am amazed at the growth Ozarka has gone through over the years." She goes on, "Our area has seen numerous benefits from the college and I am happy to be a part of something so valuable to so many people." Trish was raised in the town of Wideman, and ironically grew up with two of her fellow employees, Carol Sellers in the REACH Department and Dan Lindsey in the library.
Trish's husband, Kirk stays busy operating the hardware and grocery stores co-owned by him and Trish, along with his brother and sister-in-law, James and Janie Miller. Kirk and Trish have two children, Abbi, who is ten years old and Nick, who is seven. Their children keep Trish busy away from work with sports and other school activities. Although Miller jokes that since her children were born she does not have much time for hobbies, she does enjoy needlework. She also treasures her growing collections of snow villages and Coca-Cola memorabilia.
