Grants and Scholarships
Grants and scholarships provide aid that does not have to be repaid.
Federal Pell Grant is awarded to help Undergraduate students pay for their education after high school. For the Federal Pell Grant Program, an undergraduate is one who has not earned a bachelor's or professional degree. These Grants provide a "foundation" of financial aid for many students to which aid from other federal sources may be added.
Currently the maximum Award for the academic year is $4310. The amount awarded depends on the student's Expected Family Contribution (EFC) derived from the FAFSA, the cost of attendance (COA), enrollment status, and whether or not a student attends for the full academic year or less. Students who have all their paperwork in order in the Financial Aid office and who qualify for Pell Grant will be paid after the 11th day of classes. These funds will be posted to the student's myOzarka account and after any debt owed to Ozarka, refunds will be available the following Thursday after 12 pm. Note: If student has received their financial aid award letter and have signed and returned it to the Financial Aid office, then their paperwork is in order.
