Part Time Class Proctor

Ozarka College in Melbourne is accepting applications for a part-time class proctor for the ARNEC program.  The part-time proctor will report directly to the Program Chair.  The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills, punctuality, and perform in a professional manner. 

WORK SCHEDULE: Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule.  Normal hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet, direct, and assist students as needed with guidance from the instructor
  • Access and use the equipment as trained
  • Maintain close monitoring and proctoring during testing and reviewing of exams
  • Provide general assistance and program information to students and instructors as needed
  • Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity
  • Notify the Program Chair or designee at least 4 hours prior to being absent
  • Notify computer services if there is a technology issue
  • Report disruptive behavior to the Program Chair
  • Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Act as a liaison between the Program Chair, instructors, and students in distribution of necessary documents or actions for group work for the program
  • Maintain various records on attendance and submit to the Program Chair
  • Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with ARNEC students, instructors, and the program chair
  • Take initiative in classroom management and problem solving within the scope of assigned duties
  • Communicate with lecturer as needed to facilitate course delivery and learning activities
  • Maintain professional standards and confidentiality
  • Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Honesty, dependability, and willingness to work
  • Good interpersonal skills, including working with the public
  • Good commination skills, both oral and written
  • Proficiency with computers and computer programs such as Word and Excel
  • Effective typing skills
  • Filing and data-entry skills
