Practical Nursing Instructor for the Ash Flat Campus

Ozarka College is seeking applications for a Practical Nursing Instructor. The Practical Nursing Instructor for the Ash Flat campus, acting under the direction of the Director of Nursing Programs and the Division Chair of Allied Health, ensures excellence in teaching and learning by providing high quality, relevant, and valued instruction in their assigned classes within a Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Responsibilities include instruction, course development, clinicals, participation in campus committees and activities, developing student internships, and other duties as assigned. This is an eleven-month position to begin August 2023.

Position Specific:

  • Develop course syllabi, teaching resources, related activities and provide instruction for assigned developmental and college-level courses, and other courses as necessary.
  • Encourage students to participate in professional organizations to enhance their learning.
  • Obtain and coordinate clinical or internship sites for students if applicable.
  • Provide leadership, direction and oversight to all assigned program course offerings.
  • Work effectively with the Director of Nursing Programs and the Division Chair of Allied Health to develop, enhance, and promote curriculum and the program.
  • Work effectively with colleagues for continued growth and quality of assigned programs.
  • Effectively advise and register Ozarka College students.
  • Serve on Ozarka College committees as assigned to assist in providing programs and services that develop and enhance students as members of the college community.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of an Ozarka College faculty member as outlined in a timely and effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered license to practice in the State of Arkansas.
  • Three years of clinical nursing experience providing comprehensive nursing care.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program/institution, Bachelor of Science preferred.
  • Current knowledge of practice.
  • Must submit to background checks.
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably in teaching community college courses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities and skill required to fulfill the position responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of a computer as it relates to specific position requirements.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to assisting students and faculty.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated effective organization skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
