Recruitment Specialist

Ozarka College in Melbourne is seeking qualified applicants for Recruitment Specialist.  The Recruitment Specialist is an entry level admissions position supervised by the Director of Admissions & Student Engagement. The Specialist is primarily located on the main Ozarka College campus in Melbourne and provides support to all activities related to recruitment, admissions, and student engagement across all Ozarka locations.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Represent Ozarka College and communicate all available higher education opportunities at local events, workshops, high school campuses, agencies, and other outlets; 
  • Guide students through the admissions process and assist with registration and testing of new students; 
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries and organize campus visits; 
  • Track, monitor, and communicate with all applicants regarding his/her status through the admissions process.
  • Assist with College events (e.g., New Student Orientation, Scholarship Reception, Registration and Financial Aid Nights, Holiday Event;
  • Assist Director with Student Engagement activities (e.g., Ozarka Ambassador program, Student Government Association);
  • Promote scholarship opportunities;
  • Understand and stay current on admissions and program requirements, registration, front-line financial aid, college policies, and other college resources. 
  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities;
  • Serve on assigned committees and task forces;
  • Travel extensively throughout the College service area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associate’s Degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong consideration for education background in the following areas: Education, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Human Relations, or Business;
  • One year of experience in communications, public relations, or related field preferred;
  • Experience is desired in Higher Education in the area of admissions, recruiting, financial aid, scholarships and/or marketing strategies;
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication, and computer skills as they relate to the specific position requirements;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning, professional development, organization, and team building;
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the two-year college philosophy;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, staff, high school counselors and administrators, and the community; 
  • Must be energetic, a self-starter and responsible to work independently; 
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout a four-county service area and beyond as necessary; some weekend, evening, and overnight travel involved.
