Allied Health Instructor

Ozarka College seeks applicants for a full time Allied Health Instructor to begin January 2022 at multiple Ozarka locations. This faculty position, acting under the direction of the Allied Health Division Chair, ensures excellence in teaching and learning by providing high quality, relevant, and valued instruction in their assigned field of study. The Allied Health Instructor is a nine-month position with a minimum of 15 credit hours teaching load per semester.  Responsibilities include classroom and clinical instruction, course development and assessment, participation in campus committees and activities, and other duties as assigned.

Position Specific: 

  • Instruct students in the classroom and clinical setting with subject matter to prepare students in the allied health field
  • Assist with the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, including teaching the Arkansas Office of Long-Term Care approved curriculum
  • Work directly with the Allied Health Division Chair and CNA Coordinator maintaining and sharing reports and records
  • Plan, design, implement, and evaluate instruction for assigned courses
  • Maintain professionalism within the program and serve as a role model to the students
  • Obtain and coordinate clinical sites for students when applicable
  • Work effectively with the Allied Health Division Chair and colleagues to develop, enhance, and promote curriculum and programs
  • Effectively advise and register Ozarka College students
  • Serve on Ozarka College committees as assigned
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of an Ozarka College faculty member as outlined in a timely and effective manner

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid unencumbered Arkansas nursing license, RN preferred
  • At least one year of experience working as an LPN or RN in the long-term care environment
  • Associate degree or higher in nursing or health professions
  • Nursing experience which prepares for leadership
  • Teaching experience in community college courses preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities and skill required to fulfill the position responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to ensure continued growth of program
  • Demonstrate effective positive reinforcement to the students learning experience
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy
  • Demonstrated commitment to assisting students and faculty
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated effective organization skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
