Part Time Aircraft Mechanic

Ozarka College is seeking an experienced part time Aircraft Mechanic with a to assist the Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator in servicing and maintaining College aircraft in the aviation program in Melbourne, Arkansas.  The Aircraft Mechanic acting under the direction of the Director of Aviation, is responsible for overseeing and participating in the maintenance and operation of the airport facility, the aircraft, and other equipment located at the Melbourne, Arkansas airport.  This position requires attention to detail, high energy, and willingness to accept responsibility.  The position will be part-time with a maximum of 20 hours per week. 

Position Specific: 

  • Performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks on College aircraft
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Aviation and aircraft Maintenance Coordinator
  • Employee will be expected to provide basic maintenance on aircraft

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of vocational technical training in aircraft maintenance is preferred
  • Two years of experience in aircraft airframes and power plant maintenance is preferred
  • Valid Aircraft and Power Plant FAA certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities and skill required to fulfill the position responsibilities
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated commitment to assisting students and faculty
  • Demonstrated effective organization skill
